Step into a transformed architectural volume, where an existing structure has been reimagined into a contemporary statement. What once formed the modest foundation of the home has been elevated into a fully renewed and sustainable residence, almost unrecognisable from its original appearance.

The redesign focuses on creating a new architectural skin. A calm rhythm of lines, refined material detailing and a subtle play of depth bring the villa into the present, while giving it a strong and timeless identity.

Perspective from above
A calm yet powerful entrance

The front façade gives the villa a completely new identity. Strong horizontal lines create balance and direction, while the entrance and integrated carport are brought together in one clear architectural gesture.

The darker roof edge adds definition to the volume and gives the home a more grounded appearance. Subtle detailing above the windows creates shadow, depth and rhythm, making the façade feel both refined and contemporary. The result is a front elevation that feels calm, precise and confident within the streetscape.

Used materials

A balanced material palette

The project is shaped by a refined and carefully balanced material palette. White render is used on the existing façade, giving the home a fresh and timeless base. Dark render defines the roof edge and adds contrast, while aluminium detailing introduces sharpness and architectural precision above the windows.

Japanese charred timber, also known as Shou Sugi Ban, brings warmth, texture and tactility into the design. Its dark, natural character contrasts beautifully with the clean rendered surfaces. Inside, a concrete-look cast floor creates a calm and continuous foundation, connecting the different spaces with a sense of understated luxury.

Indoor pool extension

A perpendicular dialogue

At the rear, the design breaks away from the traditional outline of the existing home. A new volume, housing the indoor swimming pool, extends perpendicular to the original structure and forms the beating heart of the extension.

Sliding glass panels can open completely around the corner, allowing the head of the pool to connect directly with the garden. In summer, the space transforms into an open pool deck; in winter, it becomes a sheltered wellness area with a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

‘’Dynamic indoor-outdoor living with openable pool extension, changing with the seasons.’’

Future-ready living

Behind the aesthetic transformation lies a rigorous sustainability upgrade. By renewing the complete building envelope and integrating high-quality technical systems, the home is prepared for the future.

The result is a residence where luxury, comfort and sustainability do not simply exist side by side, but strengthen one another. A renewed architectural identity, built for contemporary living.
